ABU DHABI--Kranj banked on the hot shooting of Jaka Hladnik and stopped Manila North, 21-17, in the latter's opening game of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final on Friday (Philippine Time).
The Slovenian side took advantage of the Philippine contingent going a man down when Karl Dehesa was sent off with seven minutes left in the game.
Hladnik, who drained three deuces early on, helped build a 15-7 cushion midway into the game.
Despite a gallant stand by the remaining members of Manila North, Kranj delivered the knockout blow to bounce back from a loss to Doha, which Manila North will face later in the day.
