MANDALUYONG--In a memorable moment on Wednesday night, well-known women's volleyball players graced the stage of the PBA opening ceremonies as muses for some teams.

One of them, Barako Bull muse Mika Reyes, told some sportswriters at the Gatorade Hoops Center a night later what she felt when she and three others were tapped for the said event.

"Sobrang saya ko na na-consider nila (the Energy) ako at napili nila ako as their muse. Magandang opportunity for us [to prove] na hindi lang kami considered as volleyball players," the Meralco Power Spiker said on Thursday night at an event of a sports drink where she and fellow star volleybelle Alyssa Valdez are endorsers.

The PLDT spiker was chosen as Talk 'n Text's muse, while Petron players Rachel Daquis and Alexa Micek joined San Miguel in the opening rites.

"Bihira lang ang mga volleybelles na ma-invite sa ganoong events," Reyes later told the press.
