QUEZON CITY--UST once again showed everybody that they are the real deal, coming back from being down by as much as 11, outplaying an equally determined DLSU squad 81-79 during their UAAP MBT second round match-up at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

DLSU was able to dictate the tempo for most of the first three quarters, riding on the contributions of old reliables Jeron Teng, Thomas Torres and Joshua Torralba.

Such was their dominance that midway through the third, DLSU even held an ten-point lead, 48-38.

Then the Tigers turned up their game again. Using their trademark suffocating defense and behind booming threes of Marvin Lee and an 11-point explosion by King Tiger Kevin Ferrer, they turned the tide and took the game from the Archers, 73-68

The Archers, refusing to go down quietly, tied the game at 73-all with around two minutes left in the game.

However, Karim Abdul and Louie Vigil, scored clutch baskets to give the Tigers a 77-73 cushion with around a minute left that they never relinquished, sealed by a pair of Abdul and Ferrer free throws to finally defeat the Archers and sweep them during the UAAP 78 MBT Elimination Rounds.

Karim Abdul was back to his old form, earning a double- double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, his best performance by far this season.

Kevin Ferrer also came through for the Tigers, scoring 11 of his 15 points during the fourth period, as well as grabbing 11 boards, helping UST overhaul an 11 point DLSU lead and deal them their fourth loss in their last eight games.
