MANILA--On the day when Golden State pulled off a huge comeback to keep its winning streak alive, NLEX, another team named the Warriors, completed a rally of its own.
The leader of that come-from-behind win was feted on Monday.
The PBA Press Corps announced Sean Anthony as the Accel-PBAPC Player of the Week for spearheading the Road Warriors' comeback victory on Friday night.
Anthony finished with 32 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and a steal to lead NLEX to a big breakthrough against sister club Talk 'n Text, the first time it happened in franchise history.
For Coach Boyet Fernandez, the acquisition of Anthony was huge for the Warriors.
“We really wanted to get Anthony because we really don't have a four-man who's agile so it's a jackpot,” Fernandez said.
In fact, Anthony posted great improvements from last season as he averages 20.8 points, 13.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists so far this year.
NLEX will try to add its other sister squad, Meralco, into its list of victims as they will clash on Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
