BANGKOK--Hi-Tech Bangkok kept its poise despite a threat from Saigon and took an 88-71 win in their ABL clash at the Hi-Tech Gym on Thursday night.
Saigon fought back from an early double-digit deficit to take the lead, 33-32, midway through the second quarter.
But Bangkok immediately reclaimed the advantage and finally pulled away in the second half to secure its fourth straight victory in as many games.
Chris Charles led the way for the defending champion team with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and seven blocks, but he credited his teammates for keeping the Heat at bay.
"It was a team effort. everybody played [his] part today. The locals got a chance to come in, and get some points which was great, especially being at home,” the former league MVP said after the game.
Lenny Daniel tallied 23 markers and 14 caroms for Saigon, which dropped to 1-3.
