Batang Gilas ends FIBA Asia U16 with rout of Lebanon

JAKARTA--Despite missing out on a semifinal stint, Batang Gilas remained at the top five Asian youth basketball programs after blowing out Lebanon, 89-74, at the Britama Arena on Saturday.

Batang Gilas again leaned on a strong second quarter to salvage fifth place and end its campaign with the players' heads held high.

Jonas Tibayan led Batang Gilas with 16 points, four rebounds, two assists, and five steals, while four others also finished in double figures.

Salim Alaaeddine scorched for 28 markers for the sixth-ranked Lebanese squad.
