MANILA--Despite sitting out NU's last elimination round assignment on Sunday, Afril Bernardino could still be set to win her second UAAP women's basketball MVP award.

In a copy of the official computation of the statistical points obtained by Dugout Philippines on Monday from chief statistician Pong Ducanes, the Queen Bulldog, one of the vital cogs for Perlas Pilipinas in the FIBA Asia Women's Championship earlier this year, got 70.6154 SP's in only 13 games this season.

Bernardino's SP's are still enough to top the second placer, her national team comrade Danica Jose. The Ateneo Queen Eagle, who played in all 14 games this season, tallied 62.5714 SP's.

Chery Ano-os, who led UE to its first Final Four appearance in school history, is third with 60.9286 SP's, while UST's Maica Cortes finished fourth with 55.5714 SP's.

Aracelie Abaca rounded the Top 5 as the Queen Archer finished with 54.5714 SP's.

The MVP award, along with the Rookie of the Year and the Most Improved Player awards, is primarily based on the statistical points.

Bernardino averaged 14.5 points, eight rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.2 steals, and 2.1 blocks a ballgame for the Lady Bulldogs, who once again gained a direct entry to the championship round via a 14-0 elimination sweep.

However, she was benched in their last assignment for disciplinary reasons.
