QUEZON CITY--Ginebra bucked off a poor second quarter and banked on a dominating second half to maul GlobalPort, 85-70, in the nightcap of the PBA Philippine Cup games at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.
The Gin Kings gave up an early double-digit lead as the Batang Pier went on a 28-13 second quarter to take a 41-36 lead at halftime.
But Ginebra outscored GlobalPort, 49-29, after the intermission to reestablish its dominance and get its third straight win.
Mark Caguioa had his best game so far this season with 22 points, four rebounds, two assists, and five steals for the Gin Kings. Greg Slaughter also had 22 markers along with 21 boards, three dimes, and a block.
Jay Washington led the Batang Pier with 18 points in a game where Stanley Pringle and Terrence Romeo were limited to only 13 and ten respectively.
