SAN JUAN, MM--Hi-Tech Bangkok spoiled the "rebirth" of the Pilipinas Kings and cruised to an 87-64 victory in their ABL clash at the San Juan Gym on Sunday night.

Formerly known as the Mindanao Aguilas but had to undergo a makeover following a falling out with former investor Manny Pacquiao, the Kings stayed in step with the defending champions in the first quarter of the first ABL game back in Luzon since 2013.

But all Hi-Tech Bangkok needed was a 14-1 run in the second quarter to open a commanding lead that the club would not relinquish until the end.

Chris Charles led Hi-Tech Bangkok with 24 points, 19 rebounds, and three blocks, while Tyler Lamb added 15 markers and ten boards.

AZ Reid finished with 19 points for Pilipinas, which dropped its second straight game after a season-opening win in Davao.
