MANILA--Looking to bolster its lineup based on Coach Tim Cone's triangle offense, Ginebra acquired the services of Jervy Cruz from Barako Bull in a trade approved on Monday by Commissioner Chito Narvasa.

In the process, the Gin Kings gave up Rodney Brondial, who has only played limited minutes so far in his sophomore season. The Energy also acquired the Gin Kings' 2018 second round pick.

Cruz, who has a good stroke at the perimeter, which is something Cone would like to have in the triangle game, averaged 7.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, one assist, and 0.5 steal in 16.8 minutes a night for Barako in his four games there.

On the other hand, Brondial only played 5.8 minutes in his four games for Ginebra, norming 1.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 0.3 assist an outing.
