HO CHI MINH--Myanmar's U21 women's team gave FEU a rude welcome in the Vietnam International Football Tournament with a 6-0 rout on Wednesday night.
The Burmese opened the match with five goals in the first 45 minutes, frustrating the Lady Tamaraws' side early on.
FEU's defense tightened up in the second half, not conceding any Myanmar goal for most of the period. But FEU still failed to score in the last 45 minutes, and a late own goal added up to the Burmese footbelles' scoring.
"This tournament is a good experience for us. We [lost] but we never stop here. We will bounce back. [Even] if we lose again, [we'll] keep on standing and fight 'til we get our goal. Today, they learned from their mistake, and they will continue to learn and bounce back," Lady Tams coach Lilet Dimzon said after the match.
FEU will next face Ho Chi Minh on Friday before ending its stint with a Sunday match against Hong Kong's U21 squad.
