SAN JUAN, MM--Thailand's Mono Vampire finally won its first ASEAN Basketball League game as the team put more misery to the woes of the Pilipinas Kings with a resounding 85-81 win at the San Juan Gym on Friday night.

The triple-headed monster performances of Quincy Okolie, Darongpan Apiromvilachai, and Anthony McClain, who each scored 17 points, carried the fight for Mono Vampire as the squad got even on its victim after losing in their first game in Davao.

AZ Reid's game-high 19 points was not enough for the hosts, who slumped to their fourth straight defeat after winning their opener against the same opponent.

Mono Vampire imposed its will and punish the Kings' lack of ceiling as the Thai club outrebounded the Philippine team, 57-29, with McClain, who believes the win will start his team's resurgence, having 18 of them to complete his double-double.

“It’s a stepping stone. Hopefully we carry the momentum to our next game. It’s just one game but we want to continue to win and go from there.” McClain said after the game.
