AUSTIN, Texas--Bobby Ray Parks failed to impress in his NBA D-League debut, and Texas fell prey to Austin, 106-81, in their season opener at the Cedar Park Center on Saturday (Philippine Time).
Parks was held scoreless in ten minutes of play for the Legends, missing both of his only two tries, and committed two turnovers and a foul.
Bryce Cotton led the Spurs with 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while five others also finished in double figures points-wise.
Jamil Wilson, Brandon Ashley, and Allen Durham each tallied 12 markers for the Legends, who also had six players in twin digits.
Victor Nguidjol, the other NBA D-League draftee who played college basketball in the Philippines, sat out the entire game, while former Ginebra import Orlando Johnson only tallied two markers.
Their teammates, however, did the tearing as early as the second quarter.
Austin outscored Texas, 57-34, in the middle two quarters to open a huge lead the former would hold on until the end.
