PASAY--Raymond Almazan made an impression in Rain Or Shine's blowout quarterfinal win on Monday night against Talk 'n Text.
It was so impressive that it caught the eyes of the opposing club's team consultant, no less than Gilas coach Tab Baldwin.
Almazan, who had 15 points, ten rebounds, and two blocks in the match, later confirmed that he was reached out by Baldwin to join the national team.
"Sabi ko lang, 'It's my pleasure, coach, to play for the national team,'" the 6-7 center cited how he reacted to the invitation after the game.
He then revealed his answer to Baldwin, "Sabi ko, 'Just call me, coach.' Isang tawag lang sa akin, [nandoon] na ako.... Pag humindi ka doon, tanga ka talaga. Ako, hindi talaga ako hihindi."
