QUEZON CITY—A few days after their alma mater won the UAAP Finals, former FEU King Tamaraws Mark Barroca and Aldrech Ramos engaged in an offensive showcase in a PBA Philippine Cup game on Sunday.

Barroca got good help late.

Alex Mallari and James Yap put up great clutch contributions to help Star beat Mahindra, 104-96, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Mallari and Yap helped Barroca build the game-deciding 13-2 run that gave the Hotshots the win and put to waste Karl Dehesa's support cause for Ramos.

Star held an 87-80 advantage with 6:08 remaining, but Dehesa and Ramos erected a 14-4 rally to give Mahindra a 94-91 lead with 2:49 left. Dehesa fired three triples in the run.

Barroca, Mallari, and Yap joined forces in the final 2:23 for the 13-2 Hotshots blitz to escape the Enforcers' upset bid.

Barroca and Ramos each scored 26 points, but Mallari and Yap tallied 20 and 15 respectively to backstop Barroca.
