PASAY--One Championship president Victor Cui finds Chi Lewis Parry's statement about him getting replaced for the inaugural heavyweight title fight against Brandon Vera somewhat absurd.

"I don't actually understand some of the stuff that he is talking about," Cui said to some reporters early Saturday, just when everyone was packing up after the conclusion of One's Spirit of Champions event at the Mall of Asia Arena, where Vera quickly knocked out late replacement Paul Cheng for the world title.

Cui then explained the reason behind the disqualification of Parry, who failed to submit medical papers that would have made him eligible to fight.

One's top official continued, "If you wanna fight, especially in the Philippines, the regulations from GAB are so strict. We're very experienced with the sanctions for combat sports, because we've been doing it for years in boxing. That's the first thing you wanna do (submitting the medical papers)."

Cui also expressed disappointment on Parry not able to give the necessary documents for the Vera fight.

"We're disappointed. We wasted so many people's time. We'd booked all these interviews here in Manila and planned all this stuff, but we had to basically all of these," Cui further said.

Meanwhile, Cui also aired his side about Luis Santos' own rants about his own cancelled title fight rematch against Ben Askren.

"[Santos'] case was very clear. He missed weight. There's nothing there to dispute," Cui said.

Both Parry and Santos cried foul in their respective Facebook accounts after they were pulled out of their respective fights.
