PASAY--During the One: Spirit of Champions weigh-in on Thursday night, neither Geje Eustaquio nor Yang Jian Bing showed up.

It turned out, the Chinese fighter had late medical issues.

One Championship media officer Tammy Chan confirmed to Dugout Philippines at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall that the Eustaquio-Yang match was called off due to the latter not healthy enough to push through with the weigh-in.

Further details early Friday revealed that Yang suffered from dehydration and a suspected heat stroke while trying to make weight for his match with Eustaquio.

Yang is now currently recuperating in an undisclosed medical center.

The cancellation of the fight trimmed the number of scheduled fixtures for Friday night's year-end event by One Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena to eight.

All the other matches, including the much-anticipated One heavyweight title fight between Brandon Vera and Paul Cheng, will push through as scheduled as all the fighters made weight during Thursday night's weigh-in.
