QUEZON CITY—Neither guy from Ginebra's management showed up to put the team's controversial PBA Philippine Cup loss against GlobalPort under protest.

The league's headquarters failed to receive the Gin Kings' formal protest letter plus the PHP20 thousand bond by the 12 p.m. deadline on Monday.

The said development formalized the Batang Pier's entry to the semifinals a day after their win was marred by a controversial non-call in the end.

Stanley Pringle appeared to have been forced to a five-second ball holding violation, but the referees failed to call the infraction, letting GlobalPort escape with the 84-83 overtime win.

The Alaska Aces await the Batang Pier in the semis beginning January.
