PASAY--One Championship president Victor Cui bared the MMA promotion's plans for 2016, including two return trips to the Mall of Asia Arena.
Speaking to some sportswriters early Saturday after the Spirit of Champions event at the said venue, Cui said that more than 20 fight cards are expected to happen next year.
"In 2016, we're doing 24 events across Asia. We'll stick to the same calendar of having two events in [Pasay] 'coz we got a long-term deal with MOA. Our dates are all booked in for the years to come," One's top official told the press.
The Spirit of Champions event saw the coronation of Brandon Vera as the first heavyweight champion of One.
Update as of December 21: One later revealed on Monday the exact dates of the next Philippine stops.
The promotion will have a fight card on April 15 at the MOA Arena and will return on Dec. 2.
Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore will also hold One Championship events twice next year.
One's 2016 calendar will begin on Jan. 23 with a fight card at Changsha, which will come at the heels of the successful hosting of the FIBA Asia Championship last October.
The Changsha event will kick-start a 12-event schedule of One in China, which includes a stop in Hong Kong on July 1 and ten more cards that will be revealed at a later date.
