MANILA--Terrence Romeo may have just started his road to the MVP award.

A spitfire week from the GlobalPort guard made him worthy enough to receive the Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award on Tuesday.

Aside from leading the team in scoring in both of the Batang Pier's matches this past week, Romeo also provided clutch moment for them to secure the victories.

The former FEU King Tamaraw fired 12 of 33 points in the fourth quarter to wash off Jimmy Alapag's own late charge and give GlobalPort the win over Meralco.

Romeo also bucked off a poor night from beyond the arc in the next game as he scored the game-tying triple and the game-winning basket against Mahindra.

“Wala akong masasabi sa bata kasi nung kailangan ng three points, dun sya pumutok. Hindi sya nawalan ng kumpiyansa dahil naitabla niya tapos in transition nai-shoot pa nya,” said Coach Pido Jarencio about Romeo's heroics against the Enforcers.

Romeo, who averaged 31.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists this past week, edged teammate Stanley Pringle, Alex Cabagnot, Scottie Thompson, and Carlo Lastimosa for the said award.

GlobalPort will take on Talk 'n Text on Friday to finish its elimination round assignments.
