PASAY--For GlobalPort coach Pido Jarencio, Terrence Romeo's career night was not surprising provided that the fiery coach is giving his full trust on the spitfire guard.
"Full of confidence ako kay Terrence," Jarencio told the press after Romeo's 41-point outburst helped the Batang Pier wallop the Alaska Aces in Game 1 of their best-of-seven PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series at the Mall of Asia Arena on Monday night.
However, Jarencio reiterated the 107-93 rout was a total team effort.
He lauded, "Yung buong team, yung coaching staff, yung players, nagtrabaho."
GlobalPort outrebounded Alaska, 50-47, while limiting the opposition to 42 percent field goal shooting and 5-of-24 clip from three-point range.
Jarencio then evaluated, "Tonight is our night. We now have momentum. Mahabang series ito... [but] at least, nakauna na."
