PASIG--It came to the surprise of no one when June Mar Fajardo was awarded with his third straight BPC trophy minutes before Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals on Sunday.

Fajardo was dominant all conference long before going down with a knee injury during game 6 of their semifinals match against Rain or Shine. JMF averaged 26 points, hauling almost 15 rebounds per game, and swatting about two shots per contest, in 17 games played.

The SMB slotman got 1,407 points after adding the statistical points and the votes from the players, the press, and the Commissioner's Office and was 604 points ahead of Greg Slaughter, who was second on voting.

Asi Taulava (498 points) and NLEX teammate Sean Anthony (473) were third and fourth respectively, and Barako Bull Willie Wilson (473) rounded up the Top 5 by tying Anthony.

San Miguel is still playing this conference for a chance to have back-to-back All Filipino titles.

Unfortunately, the BPC winner will not be playing anytime soon as Coach Leo Austria reiterated that he will not risk to play him for the championship series.

Fajardo showed up during the awarding but was in street clothes.
