MANILA--This year's UFL Cup will feature familiar fixtures after the group draw was made on Wednesday.

Reigning holder Kaya was grouped with Stallion, JP Voltes, Forza, Laos, and Agila in Group A.

On the other hand, defending league champion Ceres, which lost to Kaya in the cup final, was cast with Loyola, GAU, Global, Nomads, and Pasargad in Group B.

The result of the draw had both finalists facing their respective foes during the early stages of last season's playoffs.

Kaya defeated Voltes in the quarterfinals and Stallion in the semifinals en route to its first UFL silverware since winning the league six years ago.

Ceres mauled GAU in the quarterfinals and escaped past Loyola in the semifinals but came up short on penalties against Kaya.

The UFL Cup will kick off on Feb. 6 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium with a tripleheader where Forza faces Agila, Pasargad clashes with Global, and JP Voltes battles Laos.

Feb. 7 will be a fully-loaded sequel to the opening day with semifinal rematches headlining the second day. Kaya will slug it out with Stallion, and Ceres will lock horns with Loyola on the said day.
