KUALA LUMPUR--While Kevin Belingon is still waiting for his championship shot in Changsha, his Baguio-based comrades are now preparing for their own One Championship returns.
Eric Kelly, Eduard Folayang, and Geje Eustaquio will see action in the MMA promotion's first Malaysian stop for the year, the Clash of Heroes event on Jan. 29.
Kelly's match will actually be the highlight of the said fight card as he will take on hometown favorite Ev Ting in a non-title fight in the main event.
"Ev Ting has really proven that homegrown Malaysian mixed martial artists can go toe-to-toe with the best in the world and will now face his sternest test against one of the best fighters in his division in Eric Kelly,” Victor Cui said about the match that will be tagged as the "Malaysia Warrior Bout".
Folayang will also make his One Championship comeback as he will face the debuting Tetsuya Yamada in the co-main event.
On the other hand, Eustaquio, whose fight against Yang Jian Bing at Spirit of Champions was canceled due to the latter's untimely death, will finally see action after the prolonged break as he will exchange blows with another Malaysian opponent, Saiful Merican.
All the three Filipino fighters are looking to win their respective matches to get closer to a world title shot.
