SMB forces historic Game 7 with rout of Alaska

QUEZON CITY--Despite needing to play one more game, San Miguel just made history.

The Beermen became the first PBA team to bounce back from 0-3 down and force a Game 7 of a playoff series with a 100-89 pipping of the Alaska Aces in Game 6 of the Philippine Cup Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday night.

Despite trailing by as much as 13 early in the second quarter, San Miguel bounced back with a bang later in the game and pulled a pivotal 16-2 fourth quarter start to turn the table for good.

Marcio Lassiter made 4-of-6 triples to help achieve a game-high 26 points along with nine rebounds for the Beermen, who can complete the improbable comeback on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Junemar has been activated for the second straight game and contributed 16 points, seven rebounds, one assist, one block, and two steals.

Arwind Santos, on the other hand, had a double-double of ten points and 15 rebounds with one assist.

Vic Manuel led the Aces with 21 markers, nine boards, one dime, and one swat.
