QUEZON CITY--San Miguel went on a late push to move closer to the second PBA Philippine Cup finals berth with a 103-94 victory over Rain Or Shine in Game 5 of their semifinals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The Beermen went full throttle in the opening stages of the fourth quarter, opening a 16-point cushion and never looked back as they took a 3-2 series lead over the Elasto Painters in their best-of-seven series.

Junemar Fajardo, who tallied 30 or more points in each of SMB's first four games, only made 27 on Wednesday night, but he got a great support from Arwind Santos, who added 12 markers while grabbing five rebounds and three blocks.

J.R. Quiñahan tallied 20 points for ROS, which needs to win on Friday to force a sudden death match on Sunday.
