Adamson, NU remain perfect in UAAP softball

MANILA--Defending five-time champion Adamson University bested De La Salle, 4-0, to extend its streak count to 65 games on Monday in the UAAP Season 78 softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

National University, meanwhile, continues its resurgence as it bested University of the Philippines, 3-2 to stay perfect in four contests.

The Lady Falcons, who needed a strong sixth inning performance to prevail, kept within distance of the Lady Bulldogs with a 3-0 card in second place.

University of the East blasted Ateneo, 10-1, to move to solo fourth with a 2-2 card.

The Lady Maroons dropped to 1-2 in fifth spot, while the Archers and the Lady Eagles remained at the bottom with 0-3 and 0-4 slates, respectively.

In baseball on Sunday at the Malate venue, titleholder Ateneo defeated NU, 8-4, to take the solo lead at 2-0, Adamson University downed University of Santo Tomas, 11-2, to tie its victims and the Bulldogs at 1-1, while De La Salle notches its first win of the season, a 7-4 decision over UP. The Maroons fall to 0-2.
