SAN JUAN, MM--BDO-NU finally scored a win in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup after subduing AMA, 93-87, at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Tuesday.

Both the Bulldogs and the Titans engaged in a neck-to-neck battle, but the Bulldogs made timely baskets to finally stave off the Titans.

BDO-NU actually opened a ten-point cushion, 30-20, in the second quarter, but AMA slowly trimmed the lead and eventually took the driver's seat, 67-61, in the third quarter.

Both teams then went toe to toe for the latter part of the second half, eventually leading to a 77-all standoff with less than five minutes remaining in the game.

Ralph Tansingco and Alfred Aroga scored on huge field goals to give the Bulldogs the lead, 81-77.

Rashawn McCarthy kept the Titans in the game as he sank in his own shot that drew them to within two, 79-81.

Med Salim then completed a three-point play that stretched BDO-NU's lead to five, 84-79, with 3:09 left.

Jammer Jamito made a split from the free throw line and R.R. De Leon scored on a field goal to once again cut AMA's deficit to two, 82-84.

But an 8-2 run pushed the Bulldogs to an eight-point cushion, and they kept the lead until the end.

Matt Salem finished with 16 points, seven rebounds, and three assists for BDO-NU, which lost two straight prior to the win.

McCarthy had 21 markers, ten boards, and three dimes for AMA, which remains winless after three tries.
