BIÑAN--F2 recovered from a sorry loss to RC-Army and beat Foton, 25-23, 25-22, 25-19, in the final game of the first round of the PSL Invitational at the Alonte Sports Arena on Tuesday night.
Former La Salle stars Cha Cruz and Aby Maraño led the way for the Cargo Movers, who braved through a relatively-long match against the Toplanders featuring long rallies and vicious spikes.
Cruz had 14 points, while Maraño added 13 for F2, which will join the second round of the season-opening tournament beginning March 8.
The Cargo Movers, now at 2-1, will have a rematch with fellow newcomers San Jose Victorias, who earlier lost to the still unbeaten RC-Army Lady Troopers, on the said date while also having matches against the Petron Tri-Active Spikers and the Cignal HD Spikers in the second round.
Maika Ortiz finished with 11 markers for Foton, which slipped to 1-2 but will have a long break before swinging back to action in the third round along with RC-Army, Petron, and Cignal.
