Foton bounces back from bad beat with win over San Jose

MALOLOS--Foton needed four sets before downing San Jose, 25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, for its first win in the PSL Invitational at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center on Saturday.

Two days after suffering a beatdown from the RC-Army Lady Troopers, the Toplanders bounced back in a great way as Danna Henson, Sam Dawson, and Patty Orendain led their charge against the rookie club Victorias.

Henson and Dawson finished with 12 points each, while Orendain added 11 for Foton, the reigning Grand Prix champ.

Jamela Suyat chipped in 16 markers, while Coleen Bravo and Lourdes Clemente got 13 and 11 respectively for San Jose, which remains winless after two matches as the team failed to follow up in its breakthrough Set 2 victory.

The Toplanders tied the F2 Cargo Movers in second place ahead of their match-up on Tuesday at the Alonte Sports Arena.
