QUEZON CITY--Ginebra finally barged to the win column in the PBA Commissioner's Cup after drubbing Rain Or Shine, 103-92, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday night.
The Gin Kings pulled away for good in the final three quarters as Othyus Jeffers sizzled for them.
Jeffers finished with 38 points, 20 rebounds, three assists, and three steals even as Greg Slaughter had a double-double of his own with 16 points and 14 rebounds for Ginebra.
JR Quiñahan tallied 21 points, eight rebounds, and two assists off the bench for Rain Or Shine, which debuted replacement import Antoine Wright.
Wright, who took over the role of Wayne Chism with the latter sidelined with a hamstring injury, had a sluggish debut as he only made 4-of-16 from the field although he made 8-of-11 from the charity stripe to finish with 16 markers.
