Global escapes past Archers in injury time to remain unbeaten in UFL Cup

MANILA--Global needed some magic from Kofi Kouassi in injury time as they came back from a goal down to sneak past Green Archers United, 2-1 in the UFL Cup on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The Ivorian fired a left footed rocket in the third minute of stoppage time to ensure the 2011 Cup holder remains spotless in the battle of the unbeaten sides of Group B..

Green Archers took the lead in the 27th minute by a header from Gary Epesso as Global struggled all throughout the match.

But Global got itself on leveled terms with GAU in the 82nd minute as Matthew Hartmann scored on a free kick which went to the lower right corner of the goal.

In the 83th minute, GAU got a huge blow when William Ebanda was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.

Izo Elhabib had another chance at goal at the 90th minute but it was called as a handball.

On the fourth minute of added time, Global out of a sudden took the lead as Kouassi scored a stunning goal from long range.
