Mahindra clobbers NLEX to match best start

QUEZON CITY—Mahindra lost a double-digit spread but recovered in time to pip NLEX, 106-99, in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday night.

The Enforcers led by as much as 12 points, 64-52, in the third quarter only to see the Road Warriors slowly coming back and even taking a 90-87 advantage with 5:21 left in the fourth.

Mahindra went on a pivotal 15-4 run in the dying moments to reclaim the lead for good.

Augustus Gilchrist led the Enforcers, who matched their best start in their young franchise history at 3-1, with 30 points, ten rebounds, three assists, and one block.

Al Thornton tallied 29 markers, nine caroms, and two dishes for the Road Warriors, who stumbled to 2-2.
