PASIG--Mindanao finally notched its first win in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup with a 73-67 shocker against BDO-NU at the Ynares Sports Arena on Thursday.
The Aguilas bounced back from a slow start and romped the Bulldogs, 46-26, in the second and the third quarters to take a 59-48 lead.
BDO-NU tried to mount a comeback late in the fourth quarter, but Mindanao held on.
Dexter Garcia led the Aguilas, who managed to blank Alfred Aroga all game long, with 13 points, five rebounds, and four steals off the bench.
Jjay Alejandro tallied 12 markers, three boards, two dimes, and one swipe for the Bulldogs, who played for the first time in over a week.
