Phoenix-FEU mauls UP-QRS-JAM to stay unscathed

SAN JUAN, MM--Phoenix-FEU needed a second quarter storm before repulsing UP-QRS-JAM, 98-84, in their PBA D-League Aspirants Cup clash at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Tuesday.

After a slow start, the Accelerators pummeled the Fighting Maroons, 34-13, in the second period to turn a 21-26 first quarter deficit to a 55-39 cushion at the half.

Phoenix-FEU would outscore UP-QRS-JAM, 24-17, in the third to further inflict damage and never looked back.

Mac Belo tallied 20 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks off the bench, while Ed Daquioag added 16 points, two rebounds, three assists, and one block for the Accelerators, who remain unbeaten at 3-0 and join two other teams at the top of the standings.

Raymond Aguilar made 28 markers, ten rebounds, and one assist for the Maroons, who lost for the second straight time after starting the conference with two straight wins.
