SAN JUAN, MM--The Far Eastern University Lady Tamarraws ended their first round campaign in the UAAP women's volleyball tournament on a high note after drubbing the National University Lady Bulldogs in straight-set fashion, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21, at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Sunday.

Although the three sets were highly contested and NU at some points of the sets showed a gallant, the level of play from FEU managed to fend off any form of NU surge.

The Lady Bulldogs had a sluggish start that prompted Coach Roger Gorayeb to call for time early.

Despite managing to trim down FEU’s lead to just two points, NU’s receiving problems boosted FEU’s confidence in terms of their kills.

During the third set, NU's woes continued as the team had another slow start.

Despite the early struggles, NU climbed its way to chip the lead to two 20-22, but FEU had enough firepower to close out the game.

Bernadette Pons once again showed her full offensive arsenal and tallied a team-high 18 points at the end of the match. She was backed up by Chin Basas who contributed 16 points.
