Tanduay pulls away late from Wang's for second win

PASIG--Tanduay pulled a late run to maul Wang's, 90-75, in their PBA D-League Aspirants Cup clash at the Ynares Sports Arena on Thursday.

The Rhum Masters withstood an early fourth quarter blitz by the Couriers and ended the game with their own rally to get their second win against two losses.

Tanduay, which actually led by 12 at the end of the third quarter, was holding to a 71-60 advantage in the fourth quarter when Wang's went on an 11-2 run to cut the lead to two, 73-71, with 4:17 left.

Back-to-back shots from Rudy Lingganay pushed the Rhum Masters up, 77-71, with 3:36 remaining.

Two charities from Rey Publico cut the gap to four before a three-point play by Reden Celda stretched it anew to seven, 80-73.

Tan-Tan Banal scored on a field goal to again bring the Couriers to within five, 75-80, with 2:10 left, but the Rhum Masters ended the game with ten straight points to pull away for good.

Lingganay and Adi Santos each scored 16 points for Tanduay, which tied UP-QRS-JAM for fourth place.

Mark Romero and Tata Bautista each made 13 markers off the bench for Wang's, which slipped to 1-3.
