SAN JUAN, MM--Mike Tolomia made a strong case on Tuesday as he led Phoenix-FEU to a 114-102 comeback win over AMA in their PBA D-League Aspirants Cup match at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
Tolomia sparked the Accelerators' rally from 21 points down against the Titans for their second straight win.
With AMA leading, 73-52, in the third quarter, Tolomia nailed back-to-back shots to ignite the huge run. He then played the facilitator as he helped his teammates chopped AMA's edge further.
Tolomia capped the third quarter with a triple that put Phoenix-FEU to within 11, 76-87.
Mac Belo and R.R. Pogoy then continued the come-from-behind fashion in the fourth, combining for a 14-4 run that trimmed the gap to one, 90-91, with 7:07 left.
The rally was extended to an 18-5 blitz when Tolomia converted a four-point play that gave the Accelerators a 94-92 lead with 6:47 remaining.
Mark Romero scored on back-to-back buckets to reclaim the lead for the Titans, 96-94, but free throws from Pogoy and another field goal by Ed Daquioag again put the Acclerators up, 98-96.
Jerramy King equalized for AMA one more time, 98-all, but Phoenix-FEU finished the game on a 14-2 run to complete the comeback.
Tolomia finished with a triple-double of 28 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists, while Pogoy added 21 points for the Accelerators, who outscored the Titans, 62-29, in the final stages of the game and moved up to 2-0.
King had a game-high 29 markers for the Titans, who lost for the second straight time.
