Cafe France seals top seed with romping of Phoenix-FEU

PASIG--Cafe France-CEU locked in the first place in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup with an 83-74 victory over Phoenix-FEU at the Ynares Sports Arena on Thursday.

The Bakers slowly crawled back from a slow start and pulled away for good from the Accelerators in the fourth quarter to get the top seed with a 7-1 record regardless of the result of the Caida Tile Masters' match against the BDO-NU Bulldogs on Monday as the Bakers own the tiebreaker over the Tile Masters.

Rod Ebondo erupted for 26 points, 19 rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal for Cafe France, which will await its quarterfinal foe on Monday pending the result of the Mindanao-Phoenix-FEU match. Idle Wang's can complete the quarterfinal cast with a Mindanao loss.

Alfrancis Tamsi tallied 17 markers, two boards, and one swat for Phoenix-FEU, which will settle for the third seed regardless of its match against Mindanao.
