Malaysia annexes first ABL title with rout of Singapore

KUALA LUMPUR--Malaysia finally won its very first ABL championship after bludgeoning Singapore, 77-65, at the MABA Stadium on Saturday.

After stifling the Slingers in the first quarter, the Dragons opened a double-digit advantage in the second quarter and never let their opponents sneak in to take the finale of the full-length championship series pitting the two remaining founding members of the league.

Jason Brickman made 22 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and two steals, while Reggie Johnson added 21 points, ten rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and two steals for Malaysia, which took the championship after two straight tries.

Justin Howard tallied 27 markers, ten boards, one dime, two swats, and one steal for Singapore, which struggled all game long.
