SINGAPORE--Malaysia silenced the OCBC Arena on Friday night after pipping Singapore, 90-72, in Game 3 of the ABL Finals on Friday night.
The Dragons pulled away for good in the fourth quarter by going for 29 points in the said period to repulse the Slingers on the road, reclaim the homecourt edge they lost in a Game 1 defeat, and take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series.
Reggie Johnson fired 34 points while tallying 13 rebounds and two assists for Malaysia, which can finally clinch its first ever ABL title as soon as Sunday at the said venue.
Wu Qingde made 19 points, five rebounds, and two steals for Singapore in a game where Justin Howard was limited to only five markers and Xavier Alexander was hampered by foul trouble.
The Slingers need to win Game 4 on Sunday to stay alive in the series and force a rubber match in Kuala Lumpur.
