PASAY--No Gary David? No problem.

Meralco snapped back-to-back losses in fashion by hacking out a 106-83 victory over Blackwater in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday.

With David serving a suspension meted by the Bolts' management for a mishap with Coach Norman Black, they blew the game wide open in the second quarter and never gave the Elite a chance to come back.

Arinze Onuaku led Meralco with 27 points, 17 rebounds, three assists, and a steal, while Baser Amer had his best game in his rookie season by tallying 15 points with a perfect 4-of-4 clip from three-point range.

Rey Guevarra, who was activated in lieu of David, was scoreless in two minutes of play.

Carlo Lastimosa had 16 points, while MJ Rhett had a quiet eight for Blackwater.
