SAN JUAN, MM--Finding itself in a win-or-go-home situation, Mindanao eyes to complete the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup quarterfinals as it takes on Phoenix-FEU on Monday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
Set for a 2 p.m. tipoff, the Aguilas must beat the Accelerators to formalize their entry to the knockout stages.
A different result will eliminate Mindanao, putting the Wang's, who owns the tiebreaker as its lone win of the tournament came against Mindanao, into the next round despite having a 1-7 record.
Meanwhile, already locked in at the third seed with a twice-to-beat advantage, Phoenix-FEU wants to end its campaign on a high note despite giving RR Pogoy and Raymar Jose the day off to hasten their respective recoveries from injury in time for the playoffs.
In the main game at 4 p.m., Caida, now assured of the second seed also with the playoff incentive, takes on BDO-NU in a potential preview of a quarterfinal pairing.
The Bulldogs, who own the tiebreaker against the AMA Titans thanks to their win, can lock in the sixth seed with a win or an Aguilas loss.
However, the exact opposite can result in a three-way tie for sixth place which can be decided in a different manner as BDO-NU, AMA, and Mindanao split both of their head-to-head matches with the exact winning or losing margin.
