SAN JUAN, MM--After their heartbreaking loss to Ateneo last Wednesday, the NU Lady Bulldogs pounced on the still-winless University of the East Lady Warriors in quick straight sets, 25-15, 25-12, 25-11 to put their postseason hopes alive at the San Juan Arena on Sunday afternoon
NU moved up to 5-5 in provisional fourth in the standings while ruthlessly knocking Francis Vicente's ladies out of the postseason running with their tenth straight setback this season and 55 overall since the Recto spikers last won on Jan. 28, 2012 against the Lady Bulldogs in Season 74.
UE’s inability to keep up with the pace of the game tempo allowed NU’s coach Roger Gorayeb to field in his three setters in different sets and also gave returning player Aiko Urdas playing time.
The first part of the opening set showed UE fighting against NU for each point, but NU caught fire and left UE biting their dust during the closing parts of the set.
Jaja Santiago showed her might on the net as she registered a team-high 16 points followed by team captain Myla Pablo who also scored in double digits with ten markers.
