PASIG--UP-QRS-JAM booked the fourth and last twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals of the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup quarterfinals after trouncing AMA, 100-84, in the penultimate day of the elimination round at the Ynares Sports Arena on Thursday.
The Fighting Maroons slowly but surely bucked a slow start and pulled away for good in the second half to finish the preliminaries at a tie with the Tanduay Rhum Masters in fourth place at 5-3. The Maroons own the tiebreaker by virtue of a 102-86 win against the Rhum Masters, thus securing the top four finish.
Raul Soyud scorched for 25 points, converting all but two of his 13 field goal attempts, along with 19 rebounds, and two assists, while Raymond Aguilar also tallied a double-double of 18 points and ten rebounds with two assists, one block, and one steal for UP-QRS-JAM.
Jam Jamito fired 24 points, 11 rebounds, and one block, while Rashawn McCarthy listed a triple-double of 17 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assist along with one block for AMA, which finished its own elimination round stint at 2-6.
