SAN JUAN, MM--The University of the Philippines Fighting Lady Maroons continued their impressive showing as they upset the National University Lady Bulldogs to share the third spot with the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws at the end of the first round of UAAP women's volleyball eliminations.
The Diliman-based spikers handed the Jhocson-based volleybelles their fourth loss of the season, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20, at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Wednesday.
Blue chip recruits Isa Molde and Diana Carlos once again shone for the Lady Maroons as they tallied for 25 points combined.
The lone bright spot for NU was Jorelle Singh, who contributed 16 points.
Singh, however, did not receive notable contributions from her teammates as both Jaja Santiago and Myla Pablo tallied their season-low four and three points respectively.
The Lady Bulldogs are tied with the Adamson Lady Falcons in fifth place at 3-4. The UST Tigresses can join them in the deadlock with a win against the De La Salle Lady Spikers later Wednesday.
