MEDAN--Batang Gilas completed a 5-0 sweep of the eliminations of the SEABA U18 Championship with a 113-73 rout of host nation Indonesia on Wednesday night.
Batang Gilas broke out of a close start against Indonesia in the last three quarters to give them momentum heading to the championship match on Thursday.
Josh Sinclair made all his shots inside the three-point line en route to a 25-point performance along with ten rebounds, four assists, and one steal off the bench for Batang Gilas, which can accomplish the complete sweep of the regional tournament with a win against Thailand in the final.
Thailand booked the other slot in the championship by surviving a 30-point outburst from Vignesh Rengarajan and Singapore's late run en route to a 69-65 victory behind Thanakrit Limjittakorn's 20-point contribution and Indonesia's loss.
Indonesia will take on Malaysia, a 97-65 winner over Laos, for third place. Malaysia got the chance for the bronze after Singapore's loss to Thailand.
