SAN JUAN, MM--Cafe France-CEU coach Egay Macaraya believes that his team can continue from where it left off in Game 1 of the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Finals ahead of Game 2 against Phoenix-FEU.
The Bakers pulled off an 18-3 run within the last 4:30 of the game to make the Thursday opener interesting only that the Accelerators held on.
"I saw something that will make a difference in the second game. Hopefully, we could have a good start in the next game," said Macaraya.
He also thought that the team, the reigning Foundation Cup holders, was overconfident in the opener of the five-game series.
"Ang pangit lang, naisip na ng mga bata na overachiever na kami. We know it," Macaraya uttered in particular.
He, however, reiterated, "As a coach, and I know the boys also know it, ang gusto talaga namin is yung championship."
Both Cafe France-CEU and Phoenix-FEU return to action on Tuesday in a rare early start at 12 p.m. at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
