MANILA-- Kaya turned up the heat right at the start of their league season with a masterful performance on both halves, as they fired a 10-2 demolition job of Laos on Saturday evening at the Rizal Memorial Stadium
Seven Kaya booters were on the scoresheet for Stephen Nicholls, as OJ Porteria, Robert Lopez-Mendy and Louis Clark each bagged a brace to start their quest for their fourth league title with a huge bang.
Hamed Hajimahdi and Patrick Frankkson spoiled Michael Acton's clean sheet aspirations with two beautiful strikes in both halves, but Kaya's firepower was too much for the Division 2 titlists as they were given a rude welcome to the top flight.
Kaya inflicted Laos' fifth defeat in all competitions and extended their winless run this season to six matches, including a 6-1 rout on them in the Cup last March.
