PASAY—Team Lakay dominated the undercard of One: Global Rivals as Danny Kingad and April Osenio won in their respective bouts at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday night.
Kingad banked on his striking prowess in the ground to pip Malaysian for Muhamad Haidar at the 2:20 mark of the very first round.
Osenio, on the other hand, got a huge gift right on her birthday as she won by submission against fellow Filipina Natalie Hills.
Osenio made an armbar that forced Hills to tap out at 3:23 of Round 1.
Burn Soriano, however, suffered a defeat at the hands of Indonesia's Sunoto in the other undercard.
Sunoto took advantage of a failed Kimura lock attempt by Soriano and turned the tides midway into the first round before getting the TKO win at the 3:50 mark.
